A friend got me some Printworks stamps before they closed the shop, so I used the poinsettia image. First, I decided to use one of the smaller Grand Scallop dies and carefully gilded the edges with my Krylon pen (making sure to prime the pen well). I set the base aside and did some pre-planning before I decided my final layout using my MISTI (allowing space for my sentiment at the end). I cut a mask and stamped the first poinsettia and then masked it and stamped another. The other two poinsettias are in the upper corners. (True Confession: I stamped my card the first time and started coloring one of the petals green. So back to the MISTI. Ha!) I used a rectangle die to cut down my focal image and had to trim a bit more. I finished coloring everything and then used my Mini MISTI to add the sentiment. Then I very carefully used my Krylon pen. I allowed it to dry completely before I adhered it to the scalloped base. Voila! It was done!
Thanks, Anne, for a great challenge this week. I love the website and could easily have done some serious shopping there.
And of course, Stacy (Twinshappy) has a new Fan Club/Dirty Dozen Christmas Challenge for July, and I hope you can join us! It's been great fun to make more cards throughout the year so I don't get all flustered this fall. I want to enjoy the holidays.
Thanks for taking a closer look at my card! Wishing you all a wonderful week and a happy July! Hugs, all! xoxo

Oh Cheryl, what a stunning, stunning Christmas card this is! Your expert coloring truly brings these gorgeous blooms to life my friend. I am happy to read I am not the only person who has colored poinsettia petals green! Ha! I bet they looked great Cheryl! I am beyond impressed with your Krylon penwork here. That gives this beautiful card such a classy, elegant finish. I am truly sorry I missed seeing your stunning card when it came through the gallery Cheryl. Hugs mf! ~Karen.

Wow Cheryl........How long did it take you to color this gorgeous card????? It is so beautiful. Love it, love it, love it. My life would be so much easier around the holidays if only I would start making my Christmas cards in the summer. Problem is, I am not in the Christmas mood now because it's in the 85-95 temperature range up here right now. Anyway, thanks so much for that nice comment you left yesterday. You are such a sweetheart for taking the time to do that.

Cheryl, you had me with the gold leaf pen! What a stunning card. I'm not sure which color I love more, pink(s) or red(s) In this case, definitely RED (she smiles). Another beautiful Christmas card completed!

WOW, Stunning card, love the big bold poinsettia beautifully colored. Seems they come in all colors now, but still love the traditional red ones. Love that you left the white area and used the center for the sentiment. Gorgeous Christmas card.....lucky recipient!
