A friend got me some Printworks stamps before they closed the shop, so I used the poinsettia image. First, I decided to use one of the smaller Grand Scallop dies and carefully gilded the edges with my Krylon pen (making sure to prime the pen well). I set the base aside and did some pre-planning before I decided my final layout using my MISTI (allowing space for my sentiment at the end). I cut a mask and stamped the first poinsettia and then masked it and stamped another. The other two poinsettias are in the upper corners. (True Confession: I stamped my card the first time and started coloring one of the petals green. So back to the MISTI. Ha!) I used a rectangle die to cut down my focal image and had to trim a bit more. I finished coloring everything and then used my Mini MISTI to add the sentiment. Then I very carefully used my Krylon pen. I allowed it to dry completely before I adhered it to the scalloped base. Voila! It was done!
Thanks, Anne, for a great challenge this week. I love the website and could easily have done some serious shopping there.
And of course, Stacy (Twinshappy) has a new Fan Club/Dirty Dozen Christmas Challenge for July, and I hope you can join us! It's been great fun to make more cards throughout the year so I don't get all flustered this fall. I want to enjoy the holidays.
Thanks for taking a closer look at my card! Wishing you all a wonderful week and a happy July! Hugs, all! xoxo

Poinsettias are one of my favorites for making Christmas Cards! This stamp is gorgeous, especially the way you used it! The scalloped edge on your base and then gold edge on that make the card no less than glorious! The coloring and masking on the poinsettias is sooo gorgeous!

What a gorgeous poinsettia card , Cheryl! Your stamping usisng masking is perfect. I always struggle with masking because I just cannot imagine how they will look after I remove the mask, lols. How nice of you to share the copic numbers. Love that you added some BV shades which I'll try in the future. I absolutely love the gold edges! So neat and beautiful. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful Independence Day, Cheryl. Hugs.

Beautiful card...beautiful coloring and shading on those lovely poinsettias. Your scallop card edge with the gold gilding is so, so pretty, as well as the card front gold gilded edging! What a steady hand you must have!
