It has been so long since I uploaded a card I wondered if I'd remember how to do it! Between hockey photo commitments in March, being away on a cruise in April (fabulous time) and being sick since we got home in mid-May (not so fabulous) I have not spent any time in my "Rubber Room" nor have I played with my punches.
I love the Queen for the Day challenge here on Splitcoast and it is my goal to one day catch up by creating cards in honour of all of the Queens that I have missed when it was their week with the crown. One gallery that I love browsing is Kittie747's - her gallery is filled with amazing creations and quite simply leaves me in awe of her talents. She was "Queen for the Day #15" . Yup, that was a while ago. {blushing at my tardiness} Kittie has kindly uploaded fabulous tutorials for some of her flowers and floral sprays on her blog.
I chose this beauty as my inspiration. Other than switching some colours/punches I stuck to her design. The link to her tutorial is in the description of her card. Thanks Kittie!
Lots of punching! Ran all the paper I used for the flowers and foliage through the crimper and/or embossing folders. No stamping on the outside but I prettied up the inside with nesties and some stamping and sponging. Embossed the background panel as well.
This card was made for a member of our church whose husband's funeral was held today after a lengthy illness.

Welcome back, Izzy!! So good to see your cheery avatar in the gallery and comments again. Looks like you've been oh so busy. I LOVE this multi-layered beauty!! Your punchez certainly got a wonderful workout--they probably had been thinking you'd totally forgotten about them. The greens and whites are so refreshing. BEAUTIFUL work!

I think you burned off all your cruise calories on this card LOL! You don't stamp for ages and then look at this beauty you create! LOVE it! Great BG embossing and the lattice and flowers are stunning.

She's baaaaaack!! Diz, this is a fabulous comeback on your first card upload in quite some time since you are rich and can go on vacations!!! You left nothing to be desired here Heather. I agree, Kitty's gallery is beyond AMAZING! I love your floral spray, ef and one of my favorite punches, the trellis border!! Everything about this is so perfect my friend. Now, keep well and stick around for awhile. Zee punchez are getting lonely. Hope they did get frozen stuck during your bad winter!! Give them some luvin' from zee Fruitcake. Tell them when Benzi bites the dust - which may be soon since she's 91 today - that they will have more company since Benzi left hers to be split b/t the punchies. What a gal that old lady is!!

Oh my goodness, my little punchiez friend and I both made one of these this week. You'll have to try Kittie's hydrangea, too. It was so fun when I made it. What a fabulous job you did, Izzy!!!! I love it in white and green as you and Kittie did. I just decided to try something different. Actually, I started with a soft yellow which I loved but discovered I didn't have enough of the paper for the base. Maybe another time.
I'm glad you're back to making cards and feeling better. No more sailing the high seas for you....not for a while, right?
Oh dear, I just saw what Pamzi wrote about me...how she wishes she could be 27 again, too. Ha
