WooHoo it's tickle a Teapotter time of the week and Snietje aka Anita has given us a fabulous "bookcard" challenge. I made my card based on the teapot photo, but I'm sure looking forward to trying Snietje's tutorial.
Here we have Milly and Molly catching up on some quiet time and enjoying their books. Milly and Molly started out life as Sassy Cheryl digi images printed onto copy paper, coloured with Prismacolour pencils and a few Copic highlights. The entire card has had a light swish of walnut stain distress ink sponged on.
Molly got a gig on this card because I messed up colouring the dog that is jumping up on the couch. I added a lace rug (scrap of a doily) to cover the dogs tail and to balance that, I added a bit of the doily over the top of the couch.
When I stuck the images onto the card, I didn't glue down the lamp shade, top of the couch or most of Molly. As this card is going to a fellow Teapotter, she will be able to foof these bits out a little to give it a 3D feel.
The family portraits are little Unity stamps. The faux frames were done with a Copic Marker. Somewhere in my house there are 42,000 brads....today, all I could find were 3 purple brads with white spots...thank goodness Copic markers can be used to change the colour of almost anything. Now I am wondering why I bought brads in every colour known to woman, when all I really needed was white brads and my markers!!
Anita asked what we like to read. I would like to say something impressive like War and Piece, but truth be told I just finished Kathy Lette's "How to Kill Your Husband and other handy household hints".
Thank you so much for looking.
