WooHoo it's tickle a Teapotter time of the week and Snietje aka Anita has given us a fabulous "bookcard" challenge. I made my card based on the teapot photo, but I'm sure looking forward to trying Snietje's tutorial.
Here we have Milly and Molly catching up on some quiet time and enjoying their books. Milly and Molly started out life as Sassy Cheryl digi images printed onto copy paper, coloured with Prismacolour pencils and a few Copic highlights. The entire card has had a light swish of walnut stain distress ink sponged on.
Molly got a gig on this card because I messed up colouring the dog that is jumping up on the couch. I added a lace rug (scrap of a doily) to cover the dogs tail and to balance that, I added a bit of the doily over the top of the couch.
When I stuck the images onto the card, I didn't glue down the lamp shade, top of the couch or most of Molly. As this card is going to a fellow Teapotter, she will be able to foof these bits out a little to give it a 3D feel.
The family portraits are little Unity stamps. The faux frames were done with a Copic Marker. Somewhere in my house there are 42,000 brads....today, all I could find were 3 purple brads with white spots...thank goodness Copic markers can be used to change the colour of almost anything. Now I am wondering why I bought brads in every colour known to woman, when all I really needed was white brads and my markers!!
Anita asked what we like to read. I would like to say something impressive like War and Piece, but truth be told I just finished Kathy Lette's "How to Kill Your Husband and other handy household hints".
Thank you so much for looking.

lololol....Susie!!! You crack me up. ((hugs)) I have missed you.
I saw those girls and thought immediately "Well there is me and my card pal". (any of them) I like the scar on her knee.
Also loving the baseboard and the paneling...you have such a good feel/eye for detail.

Oh goodness Miss Susie how I have really missed seeing your super creations. These girls are adorable and you created the cutest scene with them including pictures on the wall. And let's not forget that I do love how your cards come together with the fun stories. Messed up the dog and added a lace doily - such a clever crafter. One lucky teapotter is really going to enjoy getting this and fluffing the lamp shade. Hugs friend and welcome back to the tea parties. We all really missed you to pieces.
Oh this is such a beautiful card, Susie! Love the black and white floor and white wall you created. I also love how you made photo frames using stamps. Your coloring is absolutely perfect, too! TFS!

Oh, Susie, I LOVE your story about this card. I get such joy from reading your descriptions and have missed them while you've been gone! The card is awesome with the little girls enjoying reading as they relax on the beautiful furniture. The checkerboard floor, lamp shade, lace rug, and lace on the back of the sofa are fantastic. I don't quite understand how you turned a dog into a little girl, but I know you are so talented that I believe you! LOL. The photos hanging on the wall with purple brads are fantastic additions! Love everything about this awesome card! Hugs, my friend!
