WooHoo it's Tickle a TEApotter time and Miss Boo aka Jen, is our guest hostess this month. Jen has given us a fun challenge.... be inspired by bees!
Originally I bought this cute Sherri Baldy image for our "berry" tickle back in July, at the time little Leftie's hat reminded me of a bee hive. So here they are again, this time dressed as little bee keepers (minus all the safety gear). By adding a few lines with a fine micron pen, I turned the berries into bees.
As usual the image is printed onto copy paper, coloured with Prismacolour pencils, Zest it pencil blend and highlighted with a Copic. Before fussy cutting, I gently wiped a walnut stain distress ink foam blending tool over the girls (and yes it's true I do shut my eyes).
No surprises that the background was done with Distress Inks and the Smack & Squirt blending technique (smack distress ink pad onto al foil, squirt on water and using a foam blending tool, scrub the inky water onto the cardstock, add a bit more colour without adding water where needed).
I always start at the bottom and create the grass area first, then move up the card. I also start with a slightly bigger piece of cardstock, so I can either trim a bit off the sky or grass. Same applies to the sides, with this method you don't have to worry about seeing where the blending starts - you just lop it off.
I'm not sure why I thought a silvery moon was a good idea, it is near impossible to stamp over, perhaps we could call it fog. MISTI was used to stamp on all the foliage. I also stamped on 2 bees, they are rather large....oh I know, they are giant killer bees that only come out on when there is a silvery moon. Job done! I love it when a plan comes together hehehe.
I hope you get a chance to join in Miss Boo's fun Tickle a TEApotter teaparty. Thank you so much for looking.
