![](/forums/customavatars/avatar133118_114.gif) | | Sounds as if it would make a nice bread - sun-dried tomatoes and sunflower seeds.
This is my card for today's TLC challenge, stamping on metal. I used a tomato purée tube, which I cut the top and bottom off, and then slit down one side. I then flattened it by putting it through the Wizard, and stamped my Olivia stamp with Black StazOn. (When you consider that it was flat like a used but unrolled tube of toothpaste, the Wizard did a perfect job of presenting me with a flat piece suitable for stamping on, and no sign of any kinks or creases). I know one of the little mice is a teeny bit smudged, but it's my third time of stamping. We had guests today, and I didn't have a lot of time. When I'm stamping on smooth surfaces like this, I think the Stamp-ama-Jig really helps the stamp to stop sliding on the smooth surface, but because my metal piece wasn't too big, it still slipped the first time.
I trimmed it, and layered it on black card. The base is an A2 black card, with some Basic Gray Porcelain papers embossed with the Script ef. Then I used two sizes of daisy punch and punched out some flowers. The stress put on the metal while punching curled the petals just beautifully - but I'll have to make a box if I want to give this to someone and keep the curls. I coloured the centre smaller daisy with Bottle Green alcohol ink and added a Dew Drop in the centre.
For the sentiment I stamped part of the Happy Thoughts stamp onto the last scrap of metal, cut and embossed it with a Spellbinders ribbon tag, and used some green check ribbon to tie it round the Porcelain layer.
This was fun, Lynn - thank you for such an interesting technique. I'll have to save my next tube of tomato purée now, or buy a can of Coke to get a silver metal instead of my gold one! |
