I used many techniques on this creation, which is NOT A CARD (maybe hand delivered). I combined today's IC, both of yesterday's challenges (recycling and the color yellow) and the April MMJ2022 challenge: something smashed, something torn, a stencil and paste, complimentary colors (purple and yellow mostly) and a mirror image technique.
Let me explain: The background is done with the ink, spray and smash tutorial (glossy cardstock, reinkers dropped on, spray with water and smash another piece of glossy on top). It dries lighter than I expected but it's cool, almost like alcohol ink. I stenciled with the buttercup paste over the background on the bottom right. My recycling is the postage stamp, a piece of paper towel from my spray box, a brayer off printer paper and the domed butterfly sticker with gems, Recollections, had forever and a day. I tend to think I have to use all the prompts for the MMJ challenges, which I don't, but what to do for the mirror image?? I surfed YouTube and found a fun video for kids (I'm a kid at heart) where you put acrylic paint on a piece of printer paper, fold it in half, press and then open it. I was going for a yellow and purple butterfly but thought 'hey, this looks like an iris!' I added a little glitter at the top, tore my leaves and stem from the brayer off piece, stamped the sentiment on the paper towel piece, added the postage stamp that I just received from Linda's (hotwheels) March tickle.
This wasn't hard, just took a bit to come together, started it yesterday. Here is what inspired me to go further for today's IC: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/561050066091882310/ (mostly the purple and yellow and stamps). I loved this Pinterest board, Stacy. Kristina Werner also does a lot of mail art so check that out.

Oh, how pretty! I really did think that was an iris! I love how this fits the "old to new" challenge and many others. As your art piece will need to be hand-delivered so will my bird card. It has a huge bead dangling from the branch.
