Lisa is hosting this weeks terrific Teaparty on behalf of our very own Teapotter Lori (aka ArtzodoniStudio).
Lori's sister-in-law Sandy and Sandy's hubby Dave need some paper hugs. Sandy is recovering from 2 broken ankles!
Sandy and Dave live in Apache Junction, AZ and are both accomplished artists. With this in mind I aimed for an arty background with a southwestern feel.
This background is living proof that weirdo arty mixed media stuff makes itself. I squirted blue and green Dylusions inks on to a large sheet of aluminium foil, then squirted on a lot of water.
I dunked the glossy photo card into the puddle and quickly wiped it dry with a tissue. I repeated the process using re-inkers in similar colours and once again wiping it dry with a tissue.
Using a new sheet of al foil I repeated the process with purple inks. I tried to apply some white distress paint, but the foam topper was rough and just scratched the purple. I like the effect so I left it on.
I finished off with another sheet of foil and used red, orange and hot pinks sprays and re-inkers. Using new sheets of al foil stop inks merging and making mud.
I love this horse and drover die by the Aussie company Paper Roses (enabled by my Aussie mate Helen).
This card is jetting it's way to Arizona. Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to join in.

While visiting a stamp store an hour away from me last week, I saw dies by this company and this one was among them - I very nearly bought it! Your artistic background is amazing with it - they are sure to love this card!

What an amazing sky, Susie! I wish backgrounds like that would make themselves at my house. This is a perfect card for Sandy and Dave! I just received some of those very same die cuts in a swap and forgot all about them. Perfect for today's challenge!

Stunning background, and I am positive that the artists receiving this card will appreciate the beauty. I am also chiming in for a video tutorial, perhaps on a Wednesday???

I'm sunk. My dear S & D will no longer think I am the greatest card artist they have seen. Having you on the tea party bus was one of my dreams for them and you made it come true with spectacular flair. I'm tearing up knowing how much they need this outpouring of kindness to brighten their days. Thank you so much for touching me and my family, Susie.
