(I'm uploading early so I can get this in on time, since when you read this I'll be having hand surgery.)
To the Brickyard 500, to fix up some Stock
To make them race faster, to run like a clock,
I've sent my mechanic. Stan's messy, it's true,
But he's dressed in his workboots and overalls too.
He's rough and he's tough, he has tools, tires, and wrenches.
He works hard on cars (doesn't care for those wenches
Who only want flowers, and dancing, and craziness)
Cuz he's never not ever been accused of some laziness.
He fixes what's broken. Rick pays him in cash.
At the end of the race he takes off with a dash
And heads off for home. Tea's just not his style.
He'll relax with some chips, and a beer, and a smile.
This will go off to Jess, who is still recuperating.

Stan's certainly da man. Hey, do you think he'd come over here and fix our car - two mornings in a row it hasn't started. We'll have to get a new battery if that keeps up. I like the plaid background too, and I loved the wenches rhyme. Hope your surgery went well for you.

Anne, I didn't know you were having hand surgery today. I hope all goes (or did go) well and that you heal quickly. As you know, I know what it's like to be without your hand and not be able to stamp for a while. I so sympathize.
Thank you so much for taking the time before your surgery to make this AWESOME card for Jess. He is going to love this tough lookin' mechanic dude and that rockin' vintage car! You card is so cool!

Well every race needs a couple good mechanic,s so it's good Stan will be standing by. Love your poem -- so true, he doesn't look like a tea drinker.
Best of luck on surgery and a speedy recovery.
