lisa lara is hostessing the MMTPT challenge this week, and found the most lovely teapot. I just LOVE those colours. Well, the question was what do snowmen do at night. I couldn't help thinking of Raymond Brigg's Snowman and the beautiful film. Not having TV, I had only ever seen it once till I decided that child-minding was a good reason to get it for me :-). The Snowman merchandise is big over here at the moment in craft supplies, but by the time I'd spent e90 in a bookshop this afternoon, I was too heavy laden to go to the craft shop. In any case, I had stamped and embossed these carolling snowmen before I went to work. That is what my snowmen are doing at night - and it brought back memories of doing it with the youth club many many years ago, and my fingers getting so cold it was hard to play, and the guitar going out of tune too fast.
5 3/4" square base, covered with more alcohol ink plaid. I added white dots with a Sakura Glaze pen. Snowman image was stamped twice on white card with black ink and embossed with silver EP. I sponged the base layer with ColorBox Pigment Cyan and Royal Blue. Coloured the second stamped image with H2Os, cut out and added to the base layer. Added Stickles to the trim on all the hats. Added Flower Soft Polar White along the bottom - it truly honestly does look white in real life, but I am too wiped to find the base to use my flash off-camera and see if it helps. It's layered on aqua and green card, and popped up on foam. Added a blue polka-dot ribbon with a little bell tied on, and two glittered snowflake brads. DH allowed the ribbon and even said it looked good - I nearly fainted. So then he asked was he too critical of my cards...

This is just so much fun. The bell, the bow, the plaid. What a wonderful riot of color. I can hear the bells ringing and those wonderful snowmen singing with the little birds chirping along I'm sure.

What a beautiful card, Sabrina!! I love the delightfully pretty plaid bg and colors and that bow with the charm sets against the colors so beautifully! I'm glad to see you brought some music to the tea party. Can you have your classy silver-embossed snowmen sing a snappy tune for our snowball fighting?
