It has been awhile since I have made 2 things in one week, and both of my projects were way outside of my comfort zone. Yesterday's card used colors that made me twitch and hyperventelate. Today's stressful project can be blamed on those of you that make gorgeous creations with waterecolor paints. Watercolors are not my friends...I store them in the "penalty box" with other evil art supplies, like my gelli plate and hot glue gun. Eventually, after seeing so many pretty watercolor creations in the gallery, I forget my past and give the watercolors a second chance. I used 2 new stamps from Repeat Impressions that I got with the gift card from HYCCT. I stamped the images with stayz on black, then puddled, blotted, heat dried, and puddled with the watercolors again and again, stopping just before wearing a hole in the paper. I cleaned things up and added definition with my 2 old friends - my white gel pen and prisma pencils. The girl is paper piced and has 5 layers. I was just about to attach it to a card when my DH asked "can we keep it, please"? Who can say no to that? So I attached it to a canvas. TFL, Francie

LOL Francie, I share your sentiments about the evils of water colouring!! This is beyond gorgeous my friend. I can see why your DH suggested the little girl was a keeper, but I love the ENTIRE card. It would look great framed - it sure looks great in My Favs and on my Pinterest board.

Francie, I loved your story. Those nasty ol' watercolors! Don't shy away you did a wonderful job. And I'm glad your DH recognized it too! Now go forth and watercolor... again (she smiles).

Beautiful card - I cerainly understand why your DH wanted to keep it. You may say watercolor isn't in your comfort zone but I would never have guessed that. (I understand though, it' s not my comfort zone either.) love the color paper you picked for her dress - complements
the colors of the background perfectly.

Gorgeous, and I'm so happy for you that you had more creative time this week. I love seaside scenes, and this one has such a wonderful carefee summer holiday feeling to it. I can see why your DH wanted to keep it...and I'm glad to hear that mine isn't the only one who wants to keep cards sometimes and won't let me send them. What a lovely prize to have won.
Keep the water colors out!!!!!!!!!! You have done a fabulous job with this lovely card. Such beautiful shading too. I live in Florida and am quite partial to beach scenes. tyfs

Wow, Francie - I think you need to use the supplies in your "evil art supply box" (ha!) more often because this is LOVELY!!!! The colors, the layers of paint, the layers of the scene and the girl in the foreground are all so engaging!! And so sweet of your DH to ask to keep it! Faved, my friend!
