It has been awhile since I have made 2 things in one week, and both of my projects were way outside of my comfort zone. Yesterday's card used colors that made me twitch and hyperventelate. Today's stressful project can be blamed on those of you that make gorgeous creations with waterecolor paints. Watercolors are not my friends...I store them in the "penalty box" with other evil art supplies, like my gelli plate and hot glue gun. Eventually, after seeing so many pretty watercolor creations in the gallery, I forget my past and give the watercolors a second chance. I used 2 new stamps from Repeat Impressions that I got with the gift card from HYCCT. I stamped the images with stayz on black, then puddled, blotted, heat dried, and puddled with the watercolors again and again, stopping just before wearing a hole in the paper. I cleaned things up and added definition with my 2 old friends - my white gel pen and prisma pencils. The girl is paper piced and has 5 layers. I was just about to attach it to a card when my DH asked "can we keep it, please"? Who can say no to that? So I attached it to a canvas. TFL, Francie

Wow, Francie!! For someone who doesn't like water coloring, you sure did a marvelous job! It is so beautiful!!! I think you should have those non-friendly watercolors around more often!! Lovely story.

Francie, this is beautiful and so deserving of canvas and keeping! Your two submissions for this week may be out of your comfort zone, however they're both in my favs! You're very talented, keep working out of your comfort zone.

Oh, Francie, you are so dear! I totally LOVED reading your description, and I giggled at your "penalty box" with watercolor supplies, etc.! LOL! But truly, as I've read above me, you really colored a beautiful (no, stunning and gorgeous) image that is truly worthy of a canvas. So glad your DH loved it and asked that you and he keep it! Can there be no higher compliment? I don't think so. I love the depth you've achieved (having tried one myself and knowing how hard it is), and I love the sweet girl and your paper-piercing! Truly a 2016 Favorite for me! Hugs, sweet friend! (Now -- as Susie said -- go do it again!)

I just love this. You are going to have to get out those watercolour paints again going by this wonderful scene. I could just walk into that scene - as I love walking on the beach. Wish I was that little girl. Please don't leave your gelli plate in hiding - they are the most wonderful friend you can ever have as they are so special at making wonderful backgrounds. I will invite you to my next gelli plate afternoon so that you can see what fun you can have with them.
