WOW, Stef, this weeks inspiration piece is fantastic! I can't tell you how much time I spent in that room...and reading how the winner dreamed and imagined, scrimped and saved, patiently waiting all those years for her vision to become reality! AWESOME!!!!
This challenge took some time also. I knew I wanted to recreate her room. I began with the Louis XV chair (Michelle Ward's Green Pepper Press) which was in her sitting area. It and the wardrobe from SU Fashion Statements were inked in Adirondack latte and embossed with sea foam ep (onto white GP cs). I paper pieced the panels in the wardrobe with Anna Griffin's damask clear stamp that was inked in VersaMagic sea breeze on white. I 'silvered' my knobs. The fabUlous chaise is actually a wonderful couch from Rubber Stamps of America that I trimmed. It is inked in TI di old paper and embossed with the sea foam on SU soft sky. The rug is from RubberMoon, stamped in the latte and embossed in clear. The background wall and rug and larger bg paper is all from MME 29th ST Market papers...I've lost track of the names as I've used them up, but they are current! One of the things that inspired me was the owner said, 'there were 10 shades of blue she hand mixed!' I wanted to convery that shading also. The sentiment is from SU's Natural Beauty...inked in soft sky and stamped directly onto the MME paper. I chose to use this as wallpaper. My floor is white as the inspiration room, I cuttlebugged it with the diamond embossing folder. I added a stitched ribbon to minic baseboard. And finally I cut around the top of the wardrobe to give it some presence in the room. I used a bit of SU bayou blue as a mat.
I admire Catherine from Mill Valley. She waited till her children were grown to realize her dream of a retreat within her house. 17 years!!! But it happened! So what are YOU incubating...did you catch the patience part? I know that's a weakness in me! Thanks so much for your comments!

Wow Susan! Absolutely luscious! I understand waiting to realize your dreams when it comes to furnishing your house the way you want! And what a wonderful concept to focus on in this room... patience! At the same time, I was taken by how she was able to do much in an inexpensive way, which is what I'm all about! I loved that she bought a dark four poster bed and cut off the posts, painted it white, and added the decoration! There is so much creativity in all of us if we will jusrt let it out! Your room is just that! Creativity flows from each detail! Love your cut off chaise... it's perfect! Love the panels in the armoire's doors! Love the sentiment you added as wallpaper, and the rug is just wonderful! What can anyone say but that this is truly an inspired work of art! Love it all!

Susan, this leaves me speechless! I couldn't wait to see your card, because when I saw the inspiration room I said to myself that Susan will probably use her cool chairs somehow! Every single detail here perfectly captures the essence of that gorgeous room! Extraordinary card!

Absolutely gorgeous. Believe it or not, I was going to use the Fashion Statements set for this challenge too, now I'll have to think of something else. oh well. I love how you CB the background and mixed it with dP and aged everything to give it that shabby chic look. I Really the sentiments in the background too. Great job.

I LOVE that you've created an actual room. Fabulous furniture, armoire "replicating the door colors and pattern", wall paper, area rug and every other little thing that you've done to this incredibly beautiful card. You rocked this one.
