This didn't photograph well -- it was after midnight and I had to get these in a box to be shipped today, so I didn't have a lot of time to work on the photos. Plus the light seemed to bounce off the sugar paper on the flap. My apologies for a poor picture.
I saw the Maya Road chipboard purses a while ago and loved them. What I didn't realize was the amount of work they would be - LOL! But I think they will go over great with Nana and Granmommy.
I used Doodlebug DP to cover and I really love their colors. To cover, I cut out a template on computer paper and then traced it onto the DP. I used grosgrain ribbon to cover the seams. I also used the grosgrain to fill in behind the 3-ring binder -- it was far easier than using paper and trying to get it back there.
My biggest peeve with the purses is trying to close them and the inability to keep them moderately closed due to the thickness of the altered pages. The purses come with 8 pages and when you add paper, they are almost too thick, never mind the additional layers of pictures and 3D embellishments.
Nonetheless, I am happy with my first chipboard projects.
Lots of different embellishments: Doodlebug sugared chipboard letters, stickers, chipboard flowers, Me & My big ideas rhinestones, ribbon, rub ons.
Thanks for looking!
