Koala Hugs

WT1109 - wild animals

After stamping the koala bear, I masked him with a sticky note, then stamped the foliage around him. Stencilled some falling leaves in the background. Colored with copics. Added glossy accents to the koalas nose. It got a bit too busy, so tried to tame it with plain grey background, but couldnât resist a scallop border along top and bottom edges of the panel.

Fantastic scene you've created - love his shiny little nose. I was so surprised to discover that koalas are not super soft and cuddly to hold - they have rather bristly fur to the touch. But still amazingly adorable. I got to hold one on our honeymoon years ago and then again (at the same wildlife sanctuary) two years ago. A highlight of both trips for me. :-)

Just beautiful. The garden is gorgeous and the koala is so sweet. I've always liked them, I had one regular teddy bear my great aunts sent from Canada, but as soon as I was old enough to choose my own I always chose koalas.

This little koala has so much personality. The masked foliage and stenciled leaves create a lush, layered setting around him. The glossy‑accent nose is a perfect finishing touch, and the scalloped borders frame the scene with a sweet, polished look.
