This is the fifth Sunday of the month so today Ardyth has given us 3 honorees from 2010 to choose from as we take a walk into the past.
Of the 3, I chose lisaadd aka Lisa Addessa to case today. I just love her style of stamping and found lots to inspire. I was especially drawn to this Hugs and Kisses valentine card. I thought it would convert to a nice looking masculine birthday card for my brother.
Things I Changed: Orientation and valentine to birthday. Different sentiment, no DSP but added diagonal stripes with Car Pinstriping.
I dug through BOXES of DSP but didn't find anything that felt masculine enough for my brother's card.
I didn't want to drive to Hobby Lobby for ONE sheet of paper so option 2 kicked in - design with what you've got . . .Eventually I ran across a bag that was full of pinstriping (for cars) - When or why I bought it is beyond me but I decided to try building a striped corner with it.
I laid down 6 rows of striping on a piece of blue parchment paper and a masculine corner was born. I die cut the birthday words twice and layered for more stability. I adhered the corner and sentiment to a white panel and finished with a fine red edge to help my skewed eyesight line up the panel on my card base.

Fabulous CASE. Love that you used pinstriping -- I think it's so fun to see unusual items used as a craft supply. (My personal favorite is paint color samples.)
