 | | Yesterday being Valentine's Day, I made a card for my Uncle and Aunt using the Bloomin' Heart dies. I absolutely love those dies, so wanted to make a card that could be given at any time of year. I found my stamp saying "You're in my thoughts, You're in my heart"! Perfect, in my opinion, to complement this beautiful heart die.
Prior to cutting out the heart with the die, I drew a light pencil line a small distance from the outside edge of the die, then blended the Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede within that line, so that I had three areas of darker cherry color, then filled in most areas with the soft suede, still leaving very light sections here and there. I also blended another area with these colors (mostly cherry cobbler) to die-cut the two smaller flowers... cutting 5 sets of 2 flowers, to use for card front, and inside the card too.
To help give the card a softer look, I decided to blend Soft Suede around the end of the Sahara Sand background too.
I like this color scheme. The heart also looks nice on the Soft Suede as a background (which I tried first on a separate card, but I think I like the Sahara Sand better).
I used white pearls on the flowers (popped up with SU dimensionals).
Hoping this gives you inspiration to make something similar. |
