FS973 Birthday Flower

Featured Stamper Challenge featuring Loni aka holt3448.

I selected this one for my inspiration:
Heartfelt Thanks by holt3448 at Splitcoaststampers

I used the same stamp set, which has not seen ink in a while. It was on my list to use again. When I saw the cute card made by Loni, it grabbed my attention.

My changes: colors, orientation & layout, theme to birthday, no ribbon, die-cut panel instead of mat.

I kept the single flower in a rectangle panel, pink & green colors, dots, colored card base, random flower tone-on-tone stamping in the background.

This is a two-step stamp set. The main stamp has the flower, stem & leaves all together. For the card on the left, I masked up the flower on the stamp with a post-it note, inked the stem & leaves in Sage Shadow, removed the mask and made the impression. Cleaned the stamp. Then I did the same for the flower, masked the stem & leaves, inked up the flower in Flirty Flamingo and the center in Crushed Curry, removed mask and stamped. Repeated process for the detail stamp, except I used Shaded Spruce on the leaves and Calypso Coral on the flower.

I thought I might as well stamp two flowers while I had everything out. When I went to stamp the details on the second one, I forgot to mask the flowers and stamped all the details in Shaded Spruce. The details on the flower were more pronounced. So, I used it to make a second card with a slightly different layout.

Stamped Happy Birthday on the panels. Used Wink of Stella on the flower center and added some dots. Layered with some DSP. TFL

Thanks Loni, for sharing your beautiful cards with us and for inspiring mine today!

Isn't it fun to get out the oldie but goldie's and give them an inking up? Love your pair of cards. It is interesting to see the difference it makes when you stamp them slightly differently. Great pair of cards!

I like both versions of your card and the color combo is just gorgeous. It's amazing how different a card can look with flipping just one element from vertical to horizontal.

Your thoughtful CASE of Loni’s card is such a lovely tribute—there’s a quiet elegance in the way you’ve layered soft tones and playful textures. The two-step stamping adds depth without overwhelming the design, and I especially love how the tone-on-tone background echoes the focal flower so gently. Both versions feel fresh and intentional, and it’s fascinating to see how a small shift in layout brings out different moods. Beautifully done.
