This week's F4A challenge is all about the color BROWN - use it somewhere on your creation.
My oldest daughter loves to read and next week is her birthday so I bought her a book that was just published last week (so I would know she hadn't already bought it) and wrapped it in plain white poster/wrapping paper using a Tik-Tok tutorial for wrapping a blind date with a book.
Then I drug various TH distress ink pads down the paper and made a faux wood look background. I used ground expresso and vintage photo as my browns. I drew in some little wood marks with a sharpie.
This week's ART NUDGE challenge scene inspired the remainder of my decorations (check out the inspiration photo on their website or Facebook page).
Earlier this week I painted the cake peeking out of one of the pockets for the color challenge but wasn't happy with it. I cut it out and tucked it in with a spoon (says Drink Tea, Read Books and Be Happy), some tea, and a bit of money. She will love it.

Aren't we lucky to have the tools and the talents to customize our cards. This is fabulous on so many levels and I love it. Drink tea and read books ...how perfect!

She will love it! I know that I would, as I read a lot, drink tea and am usually happy. I love how you created the faux wood. It really looks like weathered wood. The pockets are great too.

Fab card for your daughter. Isn't it wonderful to be a reader, who mothers and grandmothers readers as well! Life is good!
