| | I saw Barb Mann's Geared to Celebrate Card - Curry and I thought that I could make a similar card.
To make the "DSP", I fussy cut the gas can from masking paper 3 times, stamped the can in Memento, and then colored them with the Dk Red Blend. I used Lt Smokey for the spout and left the top of the can uncolored. I stamped the oil stains in Basic Grey, and the nuts in Pebbled Path.
To make the embossed piece, I used one of the dies from the set and a squishy pad to emboss it, rather than die cut it. Then I brushed on Basic Grey.
To make the gears, I die cut, then swiped with Jet Black Staz On. I wiped off the excess ink with paper towel and then swiped with Saddle Brown Staz On. I didn't really like how that looked e" too gold-ish. I wiped off with paper towel and swiped again with Jet Black, wiping it again with paper towel. This made the brown not so prominent.
I used the Worn background stamp on the base. |
