Wow! I enjoyed browsing through Andrea (Snapping Monsters) gallery. I was overwhelmed with the thought of CASEing anything there--her style is so unique and so different from my own. It was a vacation for my creativity!
I ended up CASEing her gallery and style rather than any single card. Before I start describing my process, let me say that I made a shaped card--sort of--I let things hang over the edge, so it's not a simple A2. I also used the Dry Wall Mesh stenciling technique from last week to fill in some white space. Now back to Andrea's gallery...
She uses lots of paint in a scrubby style. She sticks to a bright happy color pallet with pinks, greens, and turquoise. I found a paint catcher piece in my stash that I thought I could start with--but my colors are more primary pallet.
In studying my piece for a starting point, I focused on the white dot at the top. It looked like a moon to me, so I added a city skyline and button stars. The skyline didn't stamp well on top of the paint, but that just added to the scruffy ambiance.
Andrea uses a lot of snarky-ish (yet encouraging) Tim Holtz-style sentiment stamps, so I reached for Hey You and cut the sentiments apart on small rectangles.
Andrea uses trinkets and paper clips, so I had fun digging through to find some of those for embellishments.

OH MY GOODNESS !!! This is a masterpiece! I look at this and see a painting of the devastation and confusion of 9/11. This may have been jumpstarted in my brain by the basic red, white & Blue in your bg paired with the skyline and swaths of black (smoke?)
The style may have been out of your wheelhouse, but you NAILED IT, my friend.
