 | | Diane is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week. I could be happy with her colors OR her dessert option, but combining them really had me scratching my head! The colors are Poppy Parade, Blueberry Bushel, and Crushed Curry, with a dessert option of "masculine."
I eliminated anything cutesy or flowery. I don't have sports stamps, and wildlife didn't seem to go with these colors. In the end, I searched back through my own gallery and am CASEing a card I made in 2019!
I do want to comment about the background paper. I just recently bought a small set of Brushos (watercolors in powder form), and saw a video that I just had to try. I sprinkled onto my gel plate red, blue and yellow Brushos. Then I put a small dab of white acrylic paint on the plate and brayered it all over the surface. I placed down a piece of white cardstock and pulled a print. My first attempts were unsatisfactory, because I used too much of the Brushos, and the print was more pink than white. A little of that powder goes a long way! Eventually I got the hang of just a tiny shake of the colors, so that they blend into, but don't overpower, the white paint.
I'm eager to see what our players create this week using these colors for a masculine theme. Please come join us!
