 | | I vaguely remembered doing a lot of these folded cards back in 2011, it's a real shame I didn't make note of any of the dimensions, the method or the name of the fold! That explains the extra fold in the top of the card.
So, for my future reference, you start by folding a 30x30cm sheet of light card (thick card gets too hard to fold neatly) along a diagonal. Then, with the folded side towards you, fold in each wing about 16cm towards the centre. Then fold the ends of each wing back out about 10cm. You then make the front pocket (and the one behind it that's not in the photo) by flattening out the extreme edges of the wings. Fold down the top so that the end tucks inside the front pocket (with the butterfly on it). The bottom of this fold will need trimming to remove extra card that's only adding bulk. Glue carefully, some parts need to move.
Edited to add, Sabrina and Anita are right! It must be much easier with a scoreboard, wish I'd used one now!! |
