 | | Color Challenge hosted by Barbara. Her fabulous colors are: Blueberry Bushel, Petal Pink, Highland Heather, and Peach Pie. Christmas in July continues as the dessert option.
For inspiration, I looked to my older stamp sets. I have not used this cute nativity scene for many years. Our kids are all adults now, but we have our first grandbaby on the way, so it is time to get reacquainted with this set. I didn't feel up to coloring the whole scene, so the doing the spotlight technique was appealing.
All the colors are represented in the circle along with a couple approved neutrals. I did a watercolor wash in the background with Blueberry Bushel. I used blends markers to color the rest. After coloring, I die-cut a portion of the image into a circle. I also cut Blueberry Bushel and Petal Pink circles to mat the spotlight circle. Layered the circles and placed over a black & white full image to spotlight the small area.
I stamped two sentiments. I love the Merry Christmas one because it underlines Christ.
I colored the star in the Peach Pie and highlighted the rays with Petal Pink. Applied Wink of Stella sparkle to the star, rays, heart over Baby Jesus.
We hope you join in and explore your creativity with these colors. TFL |
