Pam would be celebrating her 56th wedding anniversary this month but sadly her husband passed away earlier this year. We are sending her some Tea Potter support and help cheer up this period a bit for her. Our hostess, Lisa aka Shoe Girl, challenged us to make a card with "A Little Bit of Country". I decided to go out of this country to the countryside in Tuscany.
I have to say this image was a huge challenge for me to color. ALL my brownish/tan COPICs were much darker than I wanted. And those flowers and leaves are sooooooo dinky. But after several tries, I decided this was the one. I die cut it with the arch and then trimmed it down so I could frame it with the same arch die. The image is stacked three times for some depth. Since Pam also loves flowers and butterflies, I used this beautiful EF from Spellbinders which was introduced to me by Sabrina (Cook22). Thank you Sabrina for the enabling.
The "country" can mean so many things and probably something different to each of us. Since I live in the city, it means getting out of the city limits and into to wide open spaces. And, if at all possible, those spaces will be filled with beautiful trees and likely in the mountains. Such a peaceful feeling. Whatever your definition of "country", I hope you are getting a peaceful easy feeling from this beautiful country Gallery (or maybe from listening to the Eagles...yeah...I'm singing that song now too..LOL) TFL

I immediately thought of Italy when i saw this. Reminds me of some of those movies with Maggie Smith or some other British "dame"...this would be a wonderful getaway and does work for our theme. I love the embossed bg...fab!

What a beautiful card, Debbie! Love the scene with the stone steps; I think your coloring is lovely! And what a gorgeous EF piece for the background!

I recently started watching British TVs on a new app, and this reminds me of the villages there... The coloring is so soft and delicate.. and that embossing folder came out in such great detail. This is a fabulous card..

What lovely choices for image, dies, and embossing, Debbie. Those leaves are teeny, but you did a great job with them. This can definitely fit is the country theme and you are so right about country meaning something different to all of us. Lovely thoughts and lovely card. Hugz

I remember having a similar image in a sort of painting by numbers book when I was in my teens. I think you did a great job with the colouring, it's very atmospheric. And the arched framing is super. It may remind Mac of what she has seen of British villages, but it reminds me more of Greece, especially the little villages up on the mountainsides. Tuscany is on my wish-list. DH offered it to me for my birthday this year but I was too tired to contemplate it.

Excellent coloring of this European country house - makes me want to fly off to Italy. And that embossed background is gorgeous, really completes it nicely!
