My wife's reaction to this card, when I showed her, was rather underwhelming - she simply said "meh." But I'm not letting it get to me. I still like the card and my frail card-making confidence remains intact.
I used a lovely palm beach stamp on a blended background made with stampin up inks. To add some depth and interest, I cut out the center with a diecut and propped it up with 3D foam. I'm not great at stamping sentiments, highlighted by the simple messy one added to the card.
To cover up smudges and tears, I added some Nuvo/Pearl drops. Nuvo drops have become my new glitter; you simply can not use too much.
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful summer day.

All fue respect to your wife, but I heartily disagree! I love the beautiful stamped scene and the color blocked look of your blended background ~ the vibrant yellow with the purple and aqua looks fabulous! I also love the Nuvo drops as accents.

I like how you popped up the center and really accented the sea and sky by adding color. And those big, bold Nuvo drops -- I think I've been making mine too small and might have better luck going big.

I love the color combo on this pretty scene and I always love to hear techniques that other people use to cover those unplanned smudges or oops factors. Thanks for sharing how you did it on this card!

Well I don't think this is 'meh'! I love this scene. I like the blended colors and those drops are great. (Never tried them) Beautiful coleus plant too.

I really like this...the way you popped up the center is fun....looks like a place I'd like to be. I see no "meh" here. LOL...And you'd be amazed at how ways you can cover up boo boos on cards....not just nuvo drops..You'll find out.

Well, if you ever need your frail card-making confidence boosted, just post a card here on SCS because you have a big fan club. And I agree with everyone above, I think this card is lovely. Love the stamp and the colors in the bg show it off beautifully. I know what you mean about smudges and tears but you did them in all the right places because the nuvo drops look decoratively positioned. Wonderful card. No "meh" here either.
