I die cut the wreath 3x and glued them together to help strengthen it. The top layer has 2-sided adhesive to adhere the flakes. I found my 20+ year old container of metallic leafing, choosing the Mardigras mix, my favorite, piled it on and brushed it off several times until the wreath was fully covered.
After cleaning up the lovely, staticky remains, salvaging what I could for another time, I put the wreath off to the side for almost 2 weeks, unsure of how to complete it. I almost forgot about it, as it got covered with parts of other challenges. Finally, knowing I didn't have time to do any more challenges start to finish, I stared at this colorful wreath. I tried matching papers to the colors of the guilding but they all seemed to make that metallic color disappear, dulling the wreath. Finally I figured out that it looked best on neutral colors, but nothing too dark or too light. It's hard to photograph the beauty of the colorful guilding like it is in real life.
