LeAnn is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us three beautiful, rich colors, plus the dessert option of adding any other color of our choice. The colors this week are Merry Merlot, Polished Pink, and Garden Green. My dessert color is Starry Sky, a current SU In Color, kind of a lighter, brighter navy blue.
I always want dessert, plus any time I'm using four colors, my first thought is to use a Turnabout stamp from Concord & 9th. They are so much fun to use and they make custom DS paper in any colors you want or need! I used a new set, "In the Meadow," for my card today. After creating the custom patterned paper, I die cut the shadow shape from the Sending Smiles die set, and mounted that layer on a layer of Polished Pink, and then onto a base card of Starry Sky
I cut the greeting twice from white cardstock, then used the faux heat embossing technique for the top layer. That technique is so easy and effective! I covered a piece of white cardstock with clear packaging tape, then die cut the words. They come out of the die all shiny, just as though you'd heat embossed, but soooo much easier! I dotted glue on the plain layers, topped with the shiny layer, then mounted the word stack into the opening.
To finish off the card, I added some icy sparkle crystals into the centers of some of the flowers.
I'm interested to see what "fourth colors" our players add to LeAnn's palette this week. There are so many pretty possibilities! So please make a card, help yourself to some dessert, and post your creation in the gallery for us all to admire!

This is really pretty Barbara. I always like your turnabout cards. I like the bold sentiment- I thought at first you used glossy accents until I read your description. I hadn't heard of the technique you used but I definitely want to try it.

Beautiful! Love how you stamped your own DSP. Your fourth color was a terrific pick. Fabulous short-cut technique for a glossy die-cut sentiment. Thanks for sharing that tip! Wonderful card for the challenge colors.
