One more Featured Stamper catch-up challenge and Iâm up to the current week! This one is in honor of Janet aka corrosive69, whose gallery has a fun combination of utterly adorable cute cards, and cards inspired by heavy metal. I chose this card:
Because it reminded me of an image I have, and I had just found a leftover one that I had stamped and colored last year, but never finished a card. Janetâs style is a little fussier than my default, so I challenged myself to approximate her design as close as I could with my supplies. I had stamped the image with Stazon black ink last year, colored, and cut out with a rectangle die. I took a kraft card base and covered with a layer of green cardstock, and layered the stamped image onto a rectangle of the same cardstock. I then covered the green layer with two pieces of Tim Holtz pattern paper (double sided so easy to coordinate!) and added a thin strip of the green cardstock to cover the seam as my card didnât cover it as well as Janetâs does. I glued on the red rickrack and cut one corner of a big lacy die to go behind the main image. I glued the white lacy die cut to the back of the main image and attached the main image to the card with foam tape. Finally I added some foam sticker snowflakes and red gems to finish it off.
Congrats to Janet, hope your week was awesome!
