It was a lot of fun exploring this gallery, and I finally selected this card for my inspiration:

I was inspired by the kite and cloud, and also knew I wanted to make reference to the pink color and hearts in the original card.
For my card, I started with a gray background that I die cut with windy swirls. I added the die cut in white of the ground, tree, kite, and clouds (all one die, all pieces connected). This is framed to fit the full front of an A2 sized card. I added a pink heart to the kite and a pink sentiment to the tree.
As a final touch, I added the mouse being carried away in the scene, which is colored with alcohol markers. I could not resist adding a pink belly button. |
