This card was made for two different card challenges, one that was a sketch, and the second that required that you create your own background WITHOUT pattern paper. I chose dry embossing with the Stampin' Up! (SU) "Painted Textures" embossing folder.
First I die cut three different sizes of circles from scraps of cardstock, and used them as a mask to blend three shades of blue Ranger Distressed Oxide inks on to the 4"x 5-1/4" heavy white cardstock that I had die cut using a SU stitched rectangle die.
I then stamped SU "Lovely As A Tree" largest tree stamp onto the center of the card using Versafine black ink for extra crispness of the image.
This panel was then run through my Big Shot using the SU "Painted Textures" embossing folder... I just love the fresco look it gives the card.
For the sentiment, I used Spellbinder's "Mini Everyday Sentiments" hot foil plates and matching label dies. The hot foil I used was Spellbinders black hot foil. After die cutting out the sentiment, I matted it with SU Island Indigo cardstock (the same color that I used for the card base), then using paper snips "flagged" bot ends to match the die cut fish tail die. This was then glued to the card front.
I like both the simplicity and beauty of the result. I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5". The blending and embossing folder make the card very easy.
