I'm grateful to be alive. My Dad enlisted in the army a bit later during WWII because he had just graduated from high school in 1941. Late in the war, he did an amphibious landing on Leyte and apparently was very lucky to survive as the Japanese tried to draw US Navy away from the island so they could reinforce. It was a tremendous battle and Dad probably would not have survived but for the forces that remained. My grandparents would have been a gold star family and I wouldn't be here. Life can turn on a dime, as we well know these days.
This took me way too long...no idea why. Part of it was trying to use some unused products, like the diecuts and then figuring out a colorful background to put behind them. I tried a few stash backgrounds but ended up using some of the paper towel from my spray box. I used several sprays and inks on the bird diecut, the little pieces of foliage are the positives from that die; I splattered on gold acrylic paint. The 'grateful' is sprayed with silvery spray as I wanted it to stand out. I'm always happy when there are 5 Mondays and Karen hosts the TLC!!!!!

Love that die cut 'scene'! It's amazing how much substance stacking a number of die cuts together achieves. Your paper towel makes a beautiful background. Can you imagine this as a DP? I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Wonderful card!
