I sponged the edges of the cream panel, and distressed with TH tool. Wrapped the lace around before securing to the card front. Die cut the doily and sponged the edges, sponged the paper doily too. Glued them together and cut up, placing 2 pieces around the edge, and putting on the last piece over the postcard. Water coloured old cut out flowers I found in a box! Added lots of buttons and finally a bow.

Now you did go for the vintage look with that beautiful paper, sweet buttons and perfectly matching die-cut flowers. I often find a full doily a bit overpowering, your cutting them up is a great idea.

this shabby chic card is wonderful!! I so envy anyone that can do this. I am far too controlled and controlling.

Vintage is the perfect style of a doily challenge, and this is such a beautiful example. I agree with Sabrina that using small sections of the doily rather than the whole piece keeps it from overwhelming the card.

Wowza Sandie this is so gorgeous. I love the doilies tucked in the corners and the lace is incredible. Wonderful shabby chic card and gorgeous colors too.
