This card was made for a sketch challenge whose optional theme is "Congrats".
My granddaughter will be graduating from 1st Grade in May, so I thought a congratulatory card made with her favorite color would be appreciated.
The card base is Stampin' Up! (SU) Elegant Eggplant. The lighter panel is SU Wisteria Wonder. I used SU Perfect Plum ink to stamp the repeating upper case and lower case alphabet using the retired 2005 SU "Alphabits" stamp set. To align them I used the Stamparatus stamp positioner. I thought the alphabet would be a good themed background panel for what she learned in school her first year.
The gold foil award ribbon rosette was created using my ScanNCut CM350 to write the words "1st Grade" with a black Sharpie marker. Then using a built-in spikey circle shape, I cut around the words. The purple ribbon that is attached is cut from the same ribbon I used to cut the top banner element.
Finally, the green strip was stamped using the SU "Perfect Pairings" stamp set with SU Elegant Eggplant ink.
This card is kind of "offbeat" since one rarely gives a "graduation" card for completing 1st grade, but I know with all the shades of purple, she'll love it!
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" due to the need to carefully position the repeating alphabet stamps, and for creating the award rosette ribbon element.
