For watercolor Wednesday, Benzi shared a video on how to paint birch tree trunks. I used two different sizes of washi tape to mask the areas that would be the trunks. I just planned on trying the technique so I only used a small piece of watercolor paper (3x4 inches) just to try out the technique. It came out well enough I decided it would be a calming image for a sympathy card.

Beautiful creation with that technique. Like how you arranged the trees with the different sizes. Glad you came and played in the challenge. Lovely card. TFS

Oh, your card is gorgeous and very peaceful. I love your criss crossed trees and the inking on the trees look great. I did most with a credit card and a little with thick cardstock. Either worked. I liked the short video and thought creating the card was very addictive. I wanted to just keep making them. So happy you joined us this week and hope you'll be back.

Indeed, both the soft colors and simplicity of execution make this a beautiful focal image for a sympathy card. I like the variation of trunk sizes for added interest

Good job on this Sandy! I think this works so well for a sympathy card and starting out with a smaller size canvas was a good idea. Hope you try more WCW challenges.
