This is for Lee's challenge-monochrome. I looked up monochrome and since it can mean only black and white (or shades of gray), I decided to submit this birthday card for my granddaughter Clare, who will be 11 on Thursday. She and her sister Mirren just started piano lessons and I'm over the moon about it. I hope they get much enjoyment and never become one of those adults who say 'I sure wish I had stuck with piano lessons as a child.' I'm guessing they won't take lessons as long as I did (through college) but I'm happy they will have music in their lives.
This is a simpler version of Dina's tutorial. I don't think I printed out the provided template correctly, it made for a big card and I couldn't quite figure out the raised lid part, plus I'm mailing it so I didn't want something bulky like a button to hold up the lid. I know I could have used something else but didn't want to screw it up as I usually do. Clare is spending the week in Orlando so I thought I'd use the Walt Disney font for the sentiment. Don't worry, she's with family. Ha!
