My favorite colors -- blues and greens -- so I had to play in this week's Color Challenge and I grabbed the closest colors of my CP inks to get started. I fell in love with this card for Simon Says latest release and wanted to see if I could recreate the look. I couldn't and since these cards are so far from the vision in my head, I'm not sure how I feel about them yet. But as others have said, it was a lot of work so I wanted to show the effort. Here's the link to the inspiration card It's the second sample on this post: https://sandimaciver.com/orchid-rose-bouquet/
My idea was to use two of the colors on the bg panel and then the third color in the flower. I started by ink blending the three panels. Wasn't loving my blending so I took a clean doomed blending tool/pad and dipped it in water and then onto the panel. I was hoping it might end up bokeh. It didn't. I don't know what it ended up, but I actually do like it. LOL. Then I stamped the text stamp in each color and the rose stamp in the Juniper Mist.
After I assembled the first card (the lightest one in the middle), I decided my flowers just couldn't carry the card on their own so decided to experiment with placement on the other two. Added the sentiments in the same colors as the text stamp and the Nuvo drops and called it done.
I still love the concept and these cards did turn out fine. But I think to carry this off properly you need a BIG open floral design. My floral was a bit too small. I like the second and third cards better as the text filled more of the space. I might try this again, but maybe not unless I buy that SS stamp. TFL and I hope whatever you are trying is working to your satisfaction. If not, just remember, you learned something in the process and that's always good too.

I think you are being a tough critic on yourself... these are beautiful! The backgrounds are outstanding and the layouts are so uniquely captivating! I also wouldn't be disappointed in the stamp you used, it has plenty of
open space/large enough, but that's my opinion! I think you are an overachiever for creating three! Wink, wink! Thanks for the inspiration!

These all look wonderful to me, Debbie. I like the size of your floral stamp, but hey if you want me to help with the enablement, go right ahead, lol..

I immediately thought of the bokeh technique when I enlarged your Beautiful cards, Debbie! All I can say is WOW! You created your own version, a spin-off of the original, and that's what makes these unique and yours! You Go Girl!

Well, others have said it. You're far too tough on yourself. I love all three of your cards. I'm not even sure I can pick a favourite. But I totally understand the 'this isn't quite what I envisioned' concept as it happens often in my Rubber Room (currently being called the Rubble Room as I try and find homes for all the supplies I dragged home from AZ). lol

Debbie, I love that you shared all three cards and your progress as the designs took shape. The first card is very nice; your second and third efforts are so beautiful, and you learned (and taught me!) in the process. Well done and TFS!

Hard to pick a favorite on these three. All are faboulous and super pretty! Would pick the third as it shows more of that super cool background. So well done, my friend. Hugz
