 | | Mary has a great color challenge for us this week. Pacific Point + Rich Razzleberry + Daffodil Delight with a masculine Valentine for dessert. Another challenge I had with this was to try not to make this look like a blue and yellow U of Mich hat. I'm hoping the daffodil and razzleberry look at least a little like Minnesota's Maroon and Gold and the blue looks like denim???
As you can see I added the neutral, Crumb Cake, as a textured layer.
I stamped the Birch background stamp on Rich Razzleberry before die-cutting the letters.
The hat and it's patch were colored with pencils. I colored in two directions on the hat to give it kind of a canvas/woven texture.
The little hearts are from Sweet Conversations. I stamped on Basic White card stock but used my Crumb Cake light Blends marker to cover the white outline on these and the hat to help with the somewhat rustic or vintage look.
I roughed up the various elements either with my fingernails or, in the case of the letters and tiny hearts, by using the Take Your Pick paper piercer on the edges.
Thanks so much for taking a peek. I hope you'll play along with us this week!
I blogged about this card as part of a vintage technique blog hop - as part of a His & Hers Valentine duo. |
