My sister wanted me to make a card for her to give to her friend for her birthday. I made two cards. A serious one, and a funny one. (I hope she likes them...both of them)
My husband came up with this idea.
To the younger folks looking at this card...they might not get it. It's based on a skit done by the comedian Carol Burnett with her take on the movie..."Gone With the Wind! Where she takes the drapes down from the window like Scarlett O'Hara did in the movie...but Carol comes down the stairs with window drapes and still had the curtin rod in which she is wearing. I still laugh when I see that scene.
I didn't do the inside of the card yet...
but I think it will say 80 years....Gone with the Wind! (We older folks know how the time just Zips by! Smile.

Very clever and sooo perfect for an 80 year old's birthday! I also like your idea for the inside sentiment. I remember Carol Burnett's skit. I laughed then and I laughed when I saw your card. TFS
