When I saw today's colors, it reminded me of our backyard while I was cutting the grass. There were pinecones and pine needles on the ground under the pine trees.
So I stamped pinecones as though they were on the ground. I added brown pine needles to them as well. Then I stamped pine tree branches in evening evergreen. I put some dead, brown needles on the tree as well.

Creative idea. When we visited Northern AZ a few weeks ago, more pine cones were on the ground than on the trees, so your design brought that sight to mind. Terrific use of the challenge colors. I like the stamped & die-cut sentiment in the two greens. Pretty card.
Sue, I can definitely visualize your yard with the pinecones and needles by looking at your beautiful card. I especially love how you added a pinecones snuggled in with your pine branches.

Yep, the perfect colors for pines and pinecones and you used them well. I love your story and can so relate -- except our trees are junipers instead of pines, but we have those brown branches too. LOL. Lovely card.
