Here is my card for Teapot Tuesday, going out to a fellow teapotter. Our challenge this week is to be inspired by Princess Diana. I was inspired by Diana's trendsetting style and recall a red coat with black collar. I remember promptly purchasing a similar one which I loved. I also have been inspired by Diana's charity work, especially her work with AIDS and leukemia patients and the homeless. In the 90's I worked at an AIDS hospice and she helped destigmatize the disease. I've included 2 awareness ribbons - red for AIDS, green for leukemia. Enjoy!

Fabulous image depicting Diana, and I love the sentiment as I think Diana herself often felt unloved even though she was adored by the populace. It sounds like you connect with her on many levels especially in your work with AIDS patients.

I just love this card and your thoughts behind it. The image of the lady with the stylish hat is perfect and it's wonderful that you've included a quote from Princess Diana. I was always so impressed with her and the way she carried on with her work even though she didn't have a very happy life as a "royal".
It's so sad to look back on the '80's and '90's when AIDS was still such a scourge. I lost a friend to the disease and my dear friend lost her brother. So good of you to have worked with this marginalized population who suffered so much.
Have you read the novel, "The Great Believers" by Rebecca Makkai? A wonderful story about the young men effected by the disease and the people that loved them.

Beautifully designed card, Vickie with the pretty dp, lovely image with the red coat and black collar, remembrance ribbons and wonderful quote! She certainly should be remembered for not only her fashion sense and love of her children, but her love for all and all the incredible humanitarian work she did!

Super image and card, and a great write-up too. Yours are always interesting, Vicki. How cool that you have memories of your coat. The quote is brilliant. I'm aware, of course, of what she did with AIDS, but it was the work she did with minefield clearance that really spoke to me.

Vicki, I enjoyed reading your commentary. And as others have commented, you touched on Diana’s loving heart all the while in a hierarchy that seemed to smother her. Beautiful thoughts and lovely art!

Vicky, your card definitely speaks volumes about Lady Di...the quote you included shows why she easily related to people - she knew how it felt to be unloved, and was willing to be vulnerable about it. I really like how you used her red and black coat to inspire the colors of this fabulous card, and how she inspired you to work with AIDS patients, too!
