Mary is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us the lovely combo of Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and Old Olive. The dessert option is DS (designer series/patterned) paper.
The attraction was strong, but I resisted the temptation to pull out one of my all-time favorite stamp sets, Blossoms Abound, and make some lovely lilacs. Instead, I opted for this sweet little PI girl in her purple polka-dot dress, longing to see a special friend.
I colored the image with Copic markers, then added details with Polychromos colored pencils. Got in double dessert with two different DS papers, too!
I'm looking forward to seeing what you create with these pretty colors! Please join us!

aw this is such a sweet card and the sentiment made me emotional - such crazy times we are in and not getting to see the ones we care about is so so hard

So, so sweet, Barbara! These colors really do add emotion to your thoughts. I so admire your strength in resisting the floral theme as this approach paid off so beautifully.

This is a sweet image with the little girl watching out the window (maybe her playmate is on the way!). Love the paper pieced dress and the lovely way you've colored the curtains.
P S ~ just had to say, I love Blossoms Abound, too; a set I will always keep!

I'm so glad you resisted the lilacs and created this sweet card instead. It's adorable. She does look a bit wistful in that window waiting for her friend Love the layout and the dp is perfect framing. Fabulous card.
