Well this certainly was a fun challenge Linda, thanks very much. I did not draw my octopus, figured I would leave something out, like an arm! I downloaded from watercolour line drawings and traced on to my paper using graphite. I then painted with Daniel Smith watercolours in my favourite colours. Forced some runs - haha and did a lot of splatters, I love splatters. I have more pictures, details and links on my blog.
Thanks for having a look.

Ooh, love all the red and the other colors are so awesome, also. Wish I had used tracing/graphite so mine would have had a better head. Beautiful!

Oh! I love that red! Such a striking octopus! You did a great job with adding the water near the octopus and pulling out some color!
I did look for an octopus to download but couldn't find one and then I drew one which didn't turn out too badly but in the end, I went all tentacles!

The base red is really an attention grabber and traced or not, I am in awe of all those perfect little suction cups standing at attention down each tentacle. Really a lot of detail throughout this painting. Thank you for playing in my challenge today!
