What I'm going to say right now might shock you....I don't like to make white on white cards. I know, right? Whodathunkit? Obviously, the main reason is that I love bright colors. But my other two reasons are that it's kind of like wearing a white shirt--destined to get a stain--and because my whites never match each other. So I was very very careful this morning and managed to not stain my white card. I also stuck with just one paper for my whole card. I'm generally to cheap to use my good watercolor paper for the card base, but I just knew that if I used the Neenah card base with the watercolor paper it wouldn't match. I guess I could have just done my embossing and "watercoloring" on Neenah, but I went with the Fabriano. I stamped and heat embossed the STAMPlorations flowers and used the white starry watercolor to make it shimmer. Then I die cut the "Hello" twice out of a scrap of Fabriano paper. I'm an August bride, because I think it rains too much in June, but I have a June birthday, so I added some pearls to my card.

I know what you mean about being frugal with papers and I used to be exactly the same way; but now that I'm older and have way too much stuff I am being a lot more free at using my stuff and I am glad of the results. I'm glad of your results too -- I think you made the perfect choice to stick with the one paper. Your card is gorgeous and I love the touch of pearls.

Ohhhh - shimmer paint - I bet that looks amazing IRL. . . . I have several shades of white in my Twinkling H2O's but never even thought of pulling those out. Your pearls are even icy white - HUGE kudos for that as pearls (at least the ones I find in the stores) always seems to have a creamy cast. Thank you for playing in my challenge today!

The embossing is so pretty, and I love the Hello and the elements you used. Very pretty and wonderfully done.

It's a lovely card, despite the lack of your signature bright colors. On with you on all the whites -- I have so many die-cuts and embossed pieces that Teapotters have sent me, but when I found things I wanted to put together for a card one was inevitably the wrong shade of white and looked yellow next to the other pieces.

I know what you mean about wanting all the whites to match and the way this card turned out just proves that point. Love the embossed flowers - so soft looking, and the pearls really give it class. Beautiful card!

Oh, ha, I know exactly what you mean about using good watercolour paper for the base - sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and do it if you're set on using watercolour for the main layer. Those flowers look magical - I thought they were some sort of embossing. The texture looks amazing.
I was a June wedding and it POURED rain.
