Here is my card for today's sketch challenge given to us by Sonja. I chose not to do the shutter gate fold. I created the background panel - I used a piece of heavy paper from a brown paper bag. I crumpled up the paper and then uncrumpled it. Next I dragged "baked brown sugar" ink over the raised edges and then basic black ink. Cut the panel to size. and then placed over a piece of black cardstock. Sewed around the brown piece. The flower was stamped with memento black ink and water colored with night of navy and mossy meadow inks. Fussy cut the flower. I ran a piece of kraft card stock through the bigshot using a brick embossing folder, die cut the circle and rubbed baked brown sugar ink over the raised edges. I had a piece of vanilla that I had previously stamped using the sanded backgrounder. I cut out a 2" square and placed it on the diagonal over the circle. Stamped on the sentiment. Assembled the card and finished the inside. Added stickles to the flower stamens. The flower and the circle are popped up. Added black mini pearls to 3 corners of the square.

Really love the texture and interest in the background. The navy and kraft look great together. Thanks for making such a beautiful sample for the sketch.

Beautiful and perfect for as a sympathy card. I think the pops of purple and green from the single flower really look dramatic against the neutral background.

Wonderful texture on this fabulous card, Pat, I really love the inked and crumpled brown paper bag! The pretty blue flower really pops against the brown tones!
