Here is my card for today's sketch challenge given to us by Sonja. I chose not to do the shutter gate fold. I created the background panel - I used a piece of heavy paper from a brown paper bag. I crumpled up the paper and then uncrumpled it. Next I dragged "baked brown sugar" ink over the raised edges and then basic black ink. Cut the panel to size. and then placed over a piece of black cardstock. Sewed around the brown piece. The flower was stamped with memento black ink and water colored with night of navy and mossy meadow inks. Fussy cut the flower. I ran a piece of kraft card stock through the bigshot using a brick embossing folder, die cut the circle and rubbed baked brown sugar ink over the raised edges. I had a piece of vanilla that I had previously stamped using the sanded backgrounder. I cut out a 2" square and placed it on the diagonal over the circle. Stamped on the sentiment. Assembled the card and finished the inside. Added stickles to the flower stamens. The flower and the circle are popped up. Added black mini pearls to 3 corners of the square.

Oh my goodness, what a beautiful card this is! Never in a million years would I have considered using a paper bag to create a card this beautiful!! Since losing my dad in November 2021 I have been in the midst of a season in which I need to have sympathy cards on hand myself, and I'm looking for inspiration. It's still so fresh but I'm trying hard to continue doing what brings me joy even in the midst of my own pain. Thank you for sharing!
