This card is headed to James, who is 10 years old and undergoing treatment for cancer. This request came from one of our own, gljordan. James is the son of a friend and co-worker and she has asked us to send cards to help cheer him along. Shelly (aka Mcschmidty) suggested she ask for a Teapot Tuesday party, so I hope we will see him there in the future. In the meantime, if you're interested in sending a card, here's a link to the request in the forums: Asking for cards for 10yr old with cancer by gljordan at Splitcoaststampers
So, I finally broke out my MFT water stencil. I blended the four stencil layers and then blended over it with no stencil just to get a deeper color and a bit less reflection. I own this stencil because Jennifrann card(water)boarded me by incessantly posting adorable cards with it. I'm weak. I gave up all of SCS's secrets and then bought the stencil. As for the rest of the card, it's just color, cut, paste. I doubled up the elements die to try to make it look a bit like an iceberg. Both sentiments are computer generated using Comic Sans font.
This card was inspired by another young boy, who unfortunately lost his battle with cancer; but along the way garnered international attention for his love of penguins and his motto: Live Like a Penguin. His love of family and community sparked many service projects and his Penguin Raft (the name for his supporters) are still spreading that love in his name. I hope you will jump on the raft today and spread a little joy -- a smile to a stranger, a phone call to a friend, a card for no reason but to say I am thinking of you. Hugs all. Have a great day and TFL.

Reading through your sentiment and mentally adding "and share a glass of wine"! These little penquin pals are adorable and those cool blues really take me to the arctic.

This is such a sweet card andis sure to bring a smile!! the water (boarded!) bg is wonderful, and those two little guys are just adorable. How nice that you made the card a moveable/pocket. That's much more fun for a child. Well done.

A perfect little Antarctic scene with the penguins. Oh yes - made me giggle seeing them all decked out in scarves, ear warmers and hats and balancing on that iceberg. Gorgeous.

James is sure to love this slider card. It is just adorable. I love what inspired you to do a penguin card, also.
