My sweet little neighbors are all getting so old! When I moved into my house 15 years ago it was full of toddler boys. Now they're all driving and getting ready to graduate from high school. Julian lives across the street and his grandmother is my local cardmaking friend.
I wasn't sure about today's WCW at first, but then I realized I could make a scene and also use the sketch! Funny that the artist said that I needed cold press paper for it--because I just got some in the mail this week! No, I didn't buy it. I WON it in a giveaway on Instagram. Boy, have I been lucky lately. I had this teenage boy digi from Mo Manning waiting on my to do list and he does kind of look like Julian. I figured I could stand him outside a brick building. I masked off the ground and the side for the sketch. I drew in the bricks. I should have made them smaller, but I was nervous to. Then I masked off the lines with masking fluid and painted the bricks. I did tear the paper here and there trying to get the masking fluid off. I still need some practice at that. Then I masked the wall and watercolored the sky and soaked up some spots with a tissue for wispy clouds. For the ground I used the Saran wrap like he did for his last wall. I do like the texture there. This was really fun, but with all that drying time it took me almost three hours. It's a good thing I get up so early. And don't have to drive to the office still.
The inside says "but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake."

Oh yes - that is a typical teenage boy - more involved in his iphone than in the world around him! LOVE your brick wall, my friend and lucky you to already have masking fluid. ( I guess I need to get some if I want to try this version of bricks!) The saran wrap technique really did give you some super texture on the ground.

I've been waiting on your card and it is fabulous.....so perfect for a teen. I love your bricks and the ground, too. I want to do something with the Saran Wrap because I love doing winter skies with that wrap and sure this would be fun, too.

Great bricks! Your figure is typical teenager...head down to the cellphone which is permanently grafted to the hand. : ) Perfect card for your neighbor.

Terrific scene for a teenager. They are difficult to make. How did you like the cold press paper to work with? Your brick wall looks great. Glad you joined us again.

I love how creatively you think and created this scene to look like the sketch. Great job! Your bricks look great and I love the saran wrap texture on the ground. Adore Mo's images and I think her teen boys are spot on. Starting to amass a few as my grandsons are now both teens -- egads! And, I don't really need to add your sentiment...they are already pretty good at irritating their parents. LOL. Love, love, love this. Fav'd.
