My sweet little neighbors are all getting so old! When I moved into my house 15 years ago it was full of toddler boys. Now they're all driving and getting ready to graduate from high school. Julian lives across the street and his grandmother is my local cardmaking friend.
I wasn't sure about today's WCW at first, but then I realized I could make a scene and also use the sketch! Funny that the artist said that I needed cold press paper for it--because I just got some in the mail this week! No, I didn't buy it. I WON it in a giveaway on Instagram. Boy, have I been lucky lately. I had this teenage boy digi from Mo Manning waiting on my to do list and he does kind of look like Julian. I figured I could stand him outside a brick building. I masked off the ground and the side for the sketch. I drew in the bricks. I should have made them smaller, but I was nervous to. Then I masked off the lines with masking fluid and painted the bricks. I did tear the paper here and there trying to get the masking fluid off. I still need some practice at that. Then I masked the wall and watercolored the sky and soaked up some spots with a tissue for wispy clouds. For the ground I used the Saran wrap like he did for his last wall. I do like the texture there. This was really fun, but with all that drying time it took me almost three hours. It's a good thing I get up so early. And don't have to drive to the office still.

I love that sentiment on the outside and I ADORE the sentiment inside. You snarky thing, you! I'm singing to myself 'where are you going, my little one, little one...' remember that song from the Kodak commercials? They all grow so fast. I can't believe my Clare is 10. I didn't know there were contests on Instagram. I still don't understand how to use Instagram and I think I'm probably better off not getting too involved. Well, anyway, well done on your card for Julian. Watch out, world!!!!
